 note = {統計法に基づく統計調査として新たに工業統計調査と名前を変えた。1949年に制定される日本標準産業分類の「仮案」に基づく産業分類を使用し、調査の対象も「仮案」における「製造業」の事業所とされた。調査の範囲を前回までと比較すると、製品を作っていても、消費者に直接小売する事業所、修理を主とする事業所、電気、ガスの事業所は除外されたが、屠殺業、出版業の事業所が含まれることとなった。また、職工の人数によって調査票甲と乙に分かれていたが統一された。, Under the Statistics Act, the name was changed to Census of Manufactures. The industry classification based on the provisional draft of the Japan Standard Industrial Classification (JSIC) was used, and the census focused on establishments classified under "Manufacturing" in the provisional draft. Comparing the scope of the survey to previous rounds, while it now excluded establishments selling directly to consumers, establishments engaged mainly in repair, and electricity and gas establishments, it now included establishments in slaughtering and publishing.
