 note = {戦争末期、各省の労働統計調査の整理統合により、労働統計毎月調査を引き継ぎ、毎月勤労統計調査の名称の調査が始まった。昭和20年7月8月の2か月のみを除き、終戦直前、直後も継続して調査が行われていた。また、昭和21年12月はこの旧調査と改正後の新調査が両方行われた。 全国の都道府県知事、地方鉱山局長（昭和21年1月からは地方商工局長）、開運局長が調査対象事業所を選定した。集計結果は「毎月勤労統計調査」により毎月公表されていた。, In July 1944, the monthly labor surveys of various ministries were consolidated into one survey and continued under the name Maitsuki Rodo Tokei Chosa (Monthly Labour Survey). Except for the two months of July and August 1945, these surveys continued to be conducted until (and including) January 1947. In December 1946, a revised new survey under the same name was started under the direction of the General Headquarters of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, with both the old and the new Maitsuki Rodo Tokei Maitsuki Chosa being conducted in January 1947. 
Establishments to be surveyed were selected by the prefectural governors, the directors of regional mining offices (from January 1946 the directors of [<regional/prefectural> commerce and industry bureaus/<prefectural/regional> offices of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry]), and the directors of shipping bureaus.
