| Universe / Population | 調査日に日本国内に所在するすべての事業所。ただし、以下を除く。 １．1972年改正の日本標準産業分類における「大分類A－農業（「細分類0531－獣医業」を除く）」「大分類B－林業、狩猟業」「大分類C－漁業、水産養殖業」に該当するもので個人経営のもの及び「中分類76－家事サービス業」「中分類96－外国公務」に該当するもの。 ２．収入を得て働いている従業者がいないもの。例えば町内会など。 ３．調査日現在で既に3か月以上休業しているもの。 ４．営業の場所が一定しないもの及び営業のための固定的設備のない事業所。 ５．別経営の事業所の構内にあって、(1)専らその事業所の従業員のためにあるもの。例えば、工場、会社などの中にある別経営の食堂、売店など。(2)その事業所の下請事業を行うもので、ほかの場所に統括事務を行う本店、支店などがあるもの。 ６．入場料などを払って出入りする有料施設の中にある事業所。 |

| Universe / Population | All establishments in Japan on the date of the census, except the following: 1. Individual proprietorships that, based on the 1972 version of the Japan Standard Industrial Classification, were classified as belonging to Division A: Agriculture (except 4-Digit Category 0531: Veterinary Services), Division B: Forestry and Hunting, or Division C: Fisheries and Aquaculture, as well as establishments belonging to Major Group 76: Domestic Services or Major Group 96: Foreign Governments and International Agencies in Japan. 2. Establishments without paid employees, such as neighborhood associations. 3. Establishments that on the day of the census had been closed down for three months or more. 4. Establishments without a fixed place of business and establishments without fixed business facilities. 5. Establishments operating on the premises of an establishment in a separate business that (1) operate solely for that establishments, such as cafeterias and shops within another business such as a factory or company office; or (2) establishments that act as subcontractors of that other establishment but are under the control of another head office or branch office. 6. Establishments within fee-charging facilities that are entered by paying an entrance fee. |
