| Value | 注 1．明治13年以前の計数はえられない． 2．本表の公務員数は，b表の人件費に対応するものであり，両者の突き合せは，c表で示される．ただし給料が示されていて，それに対応する人員が空白になっているのは，原資料が示されていないためで，本表では未詳として取り扱った． 3．表頭の省別名は，当初より若干の変遷があるうえに，整表上のスペースの節約もあって，性格の似た官省を統合してある点に注意．制度上の変遷については推計編参照のこと．整表上の統合は次のとおり． 1）内閣は明治17年度まで太政官． 2）枢密院は宮内省（明14～22年度），元老院（明13～22年度），枢密院（明21～昭13年度）の計である． 3）「その他」は，開拓使（明13～14年度），会計検査院（明22年度以降），大審院（明13～14年度），行政裁判所（明23年度以降），衆・貴族院事務局（明23年度以降），警視庁（明13年度以降）およびその他の計である． 4）鉄道省の明20～23年度は，鉄道局（鉄道庁）である． 5）植民地は，台湾総督府（明29年度以降），関東庁（明39年度以降），樺太庁（明39年度以降），朝鮮総督府（明43年度以降）および南洋庁（大12年度以降）の計である． 4．表中の数字は本官と兼官を含み，それぞれ勅任（准勅任），奏任（准奏任），判任（准判任），等外（准等外），傭を含む．原表には，明治17～19年度について，巡査，看守を別記する． 5．大正10年度以降になって，それ以前に「雇傭」として示されていた数が，「雇」と「傭」に分離する．カッコは「雇」の数．（…）はそれが不明であることを示す．したがって該当省，または該当年の人数計には，この不明分が含まれていない． 6．昭和4年の計には警視庁分が含まれていない． 7．本表で道府県とあるのは，地方吏員をさすのではなく，府県庁に所属する官吏の意味である．第15表b．，c．についても同じ． 8．**印については，第15表b．の注4をみよ． | |||||||||||||
